Meghan Markle Makes First Public Appearance Since U.K. Return

Meghan Markle is catching up with an old friend.

In her first public appearance since moving back to the United Kingdom with her husband Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex enjoyed an afternoon tea with activist Malala Yousafzai at Claridge’s in London.

For the Oct. 8 outing Meghan donned a long brown coat, cream sweater and white wide-legged trousers. She paired the polished look with pointed-toe flats and a Logan Hollowell emerald necklace worth $21,150.

Meanwhile, Malala donned a tan blazer, striped pants and a camel-colored headscarf.

After lunch, the pair chatted outside the historic hotel, before sharing a friendly hug as they parted ways.

Indeed, Meghan, 45, and Malala, 29, have history spanning back years. The Suits alum and Harry, 42, sat down with the Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2020 for a virtual discussion marking International Day of the Girl.

"Meghan and I are on the same page," Malala wrote on X at the time. "We both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins."
